QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE WERE TOTALLY FLIPPIN' AWESOME, HOLY CRAP
Josh Homme called out some guy in the crowd for being a douchebag and had him kicked out of the show, but not before railing on him in front of the entire audience for five minutes straight. Worth a mention as it was some of the most intense verbal abuse I've heard in a while.
Thought it was kind of weird they didn't play No One Knows, but A Song for the Dead rocked more than hard enough to make up for it. I guess they're phasing out their older stuff? I don't think they played anything off of their first album. I just wish their new stuff was as awesome on the album as it is live... I've said I'm not a huge fan of the newer album, but they really sold me last night on Sick Sick Sick. Dang. I need to give these guys another listen now.
Wish I had got down on the floor, Garrett says the pit was awesome, but I was entertaining lady friends, so I think I had a pretty good reason? I dunno, this whole lady friend thing is kind of new to me.
Came back home for a little afterparty, crashed out about 3:00, just woke up a couple hours ago. I think the guys want to go skating today while they're here, I don't know if that'll happen since its a little wet outside. Planning on going to an art show opening thing tonight, should be fun. After that, Hailey's going to a party of people she doesn't know or something and invited me to come along for company. Sounds like a cool day coming up.
Here's some music, as a tribute to Mr. Homme's verbal assault that will probably leave that guy's grandkids feeling like dicks in years to come. A DFA1979 remix, so as not to totally overwhelm this post with QotSA.:
