Another year. Nice. '08 wasn't too shabby, but I am glad to see it go. Didn't help that new years was totally boring and depressing this time around. Way to leave a bad taste in my mouth, MMVIII.
Lately I've just been plodding away at work and killing time at home until school gets back in. I feel like I've been slacking off my blogging here but nothing that interesting has really happened. Or at least nothing I'd want to write about here. =/
Well, I'm officially making pizzas at Funstation now. Exactly like working concessions at AMC, which blew dick. We'll see how long I hold out before I'm absolutely tired of it. I'm already pretty close after just a four hour shift today. Hopefully the whole money thing will soften the pain come payday.
One nice thing though: its easy as shit. Three days in and I'll be closing by myself. Okay, sure.
On a different note, I recently looked back on all the art I did this year... I feel like I worked my ass off, but I'd probably disown 90% of the stuff I made. What the heck. Kind of put me in a mood.
Jon and his girl Dareen passed through town yesterday and today; went to the Ale House and Momo's and out for coffee, now I don't have any grocery money. Again. Totally worth it though, I've been so bored this last week.
Why is BBC News so fixated on cloaking technology? I use the little RSS feed they pack in the Firefox install to keep tabs on headlines, and I've noticed a bit of a pattern. You'll know its a slow news day when they've got an article mentioning "meta-materials" development or technology paving the way for an "invisibility cloak". Also, 'trick' headlines for dumb stories about things like funny animals are a dead giveaway they're scraping for stories.
Planning on seeing Tropic Thunder today, mostly just because all my friends are going (I'd rather go see Pineapple Express, but everybody's already seen it), then going back to Crestview tomorrow morning. I was toying with the idea of going home tonight, but I think I might be able to get my sleep back to a normal schedule if I stay here - I figure if I can just hold out going to sleep until after the movie, I'll be able to wake up at a decent hour tomorrow morning and reset my sleep pattern. Here's hoping. Yesterday I held out until noon and then slept till 9pm, so I figure I can make it to 6 or 7 this afternoon.
UPDATE: Made it to 5pm, slept until midnight. What?
What's been going on in my life lately? school - school - school - school - work. There, now you're caught up. Recently I've started playing Assassin's Creed, it's okay; gets a little samey after a while, but it's fun just running around climbing stuff, and it sure looks pretty. Saw Iron Man with Russ tonight, not bad.
I'll be turning 22 soon, maybe that will be exciting in some way. As far as I can tell, though, twenty-two is one of those "useless" birthdays you might as well skip, like 19 or 20 where you're just waiting to turn 21 so you're finally able to drink. Except 22 you're not really waiting on anything. At least, I'm not.
Oh wait, one exciting thing coming up is The Sword is playing here soon, and I haven't been to a show in so long I realized today that I had forgot all about buying tickets.
It's starting to look like I'm going to have a very boring week now. Nobody cool is coming back until at least Thursday. My DS has been seeing a lot of play recently.
One bit of cool news, though: I got a new studio space that is both spacious and well-lit, which are two things my old studio space could not boast. As soon as my key card gets on the system, I am going to be working my butt off in there. I SWEAR TO IT.
And in more art-related news, I've been entertaining the idea of doing some more DBH submissions, so... I did. Here's one, I've got maybe two more in the works? We'll see. Just trying to loosen up and not take this crap so seriously, so I just draw what comes natural - one of which is angry looking heads.
UGH what a boring weekend. Everybody is either out of town or at work all day. I'm trying to keep busy today, but yesterday I about lost my mind. Right now I'm working on a t-shirt design for Aunt Brenda's youth group retreat thing. Trying not to make it too played out, since the material they gave me is pretty stale, but I think I'm only going to be able to do so much. Not sure I'm getting paid for this gig anyway, so as long as it looks pretty solid, I don't think she'll mind.
Speaking of getting paid, I bummed myself out today when I realized that most of my first paycheck is going to go towards that parking ticket I got when my car got towed. -___-
Having a hard time sleeping lately, mostly thanks to school and pulling two all-nighters in the last week. Hopefully after this week, I'll be back to normal what with the new job and being out of school for a while. Or hell, if it gets really bad, maybe I'll volunteer for some night audit shifts and get paid for being up so late.
So yeah, it's 6:30 in the morning. What's that mean? Yep, you guessed it, I'm trolling youtube for awesome music videos. Or, well, that's what I've been doing. Now I'm going to bed.

Hopefully I won't be frequenting this stuff so much after I start my new job at the Holiday Inn on Friday. Also, it's the last week of school for art kids, and I've got final projects to finish, like ASAP.
Another uneventful day and a fucking boring night. Went to goodwill again to get some kids toys for my electronic sound DIS, gonna bend them Tuesday. Had some crappy soggy heatlamp Chik-Fil-A and grabbed a coffee and a bagel at All Saints, then came home and worked on a project for GDII all evening. It's been 40 degrees and rainy all day, I didn't have the motivation to take care of any of the errands I had planned for this weekend. Now it's fucking freezing cold in the house... the heater is still on the fritz, or I would actually turn it on tonight, electricity bill be damned.
