What's your favorite saying?

What's the best thing about today?
How are you spending Christmas Day?
- bacon + mint green tea for breakfast = indigestion
- open presents
- take a nap
- eat snacks
- walk the dog
- eat prime rib and mashed potatoes
The weather is so crap today. 40 degrees and rainy. Bleh.
Note to self: have a Christmas list ready by next year for Mom and Dad so I don't get a flashlight and hand towels again. Almost as bad as the infamous "post-it notes and chapstick" Christmas a couple years back...
Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?
Submitted by Paddy Melt Wagon.
I think my first CD was a Barenaked Ladies album... Stunt, maybe. Not as bad as Jon's copy of Astro Lounge, but close.
Um, okay, I just caught a tiny lizard in my room. Google says its a house gecko. Very cool friendly little guy, but I let him go out on the porch. Wow, that was a random little experience.
Anyway, what I was going to say before that happened is...
My photography final is due this Friday because we're making books through Blurb and we have to send out our layouts now in order to be back before the end of the semester. If you know me at all, you can guess that I've only got a couple pages ready to go right now. Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time at school tommorow. Bleh.
What's your favorite appetizer to order at a restaurant?
I really like the fried green beens at TGI Fridays. I think it's the wasabi sauce that really makes the dish, there. Also, I really love Olive Garden breadsticks, even though you don't really "order" those, per say.
Bent a little toy guitar/keyboard thing today for my midterm in my seminar class. It rules so hard. This post is basically a reminder to get some pics and recordings up.
What board game are you really good at? Really bad at?
I swear I absolutely rock some Clue. And I'm not half bad at Risk, either. Worst game? I'm a pretty good speller, but I always lose at Scrabble. Probably because I always play with my aunt, who reads about 100x more than I do.

Skipped work today, the timechange fucked me after staying up all night at Mike's.
Job interview Monday with the state for an OPS position, either at the attourney general's office, or the state attourney's office, or something. I need a haircut.
What are you going to do with your tax return?
Submitted by KB.
It's gonna be a good month come May. Not only do tax returns come back soon, there's an extra payday in April! I have been a good boy and saved a lot of money ever since nearly dipping into the red at the end of March. I think I had $5.55 in my checking account for a day or two after the Kid Koala show. whoa.
PLANS FOR MY HARD EARNED CASH THAT PEOPLE TOOK AWAY BUT OTHER PEOPLE DECIDED WAS TOO MUCH:
Get my brakes fixed on my bike (the back brake line disconnected itself recently)
Get a copy of the new Pokemon game (haha what a dork)
Maybe buy seasons one and two of The Venture Bros.
But I should really put it all in the bank.
A COUPLE RANDOM THOUGHTS BEFORE BED:
I've decided to stop naming posts unless it's something important (or I forget not to, old habits are hard to break). My theory: The world is just fine without another snarky joke or clever witticism or obscure song lyric from yours truly.
I wonder if there will be negative chink-backlash after all the terrible shit at V-Tech today, if the gunner really was an asian guy? If so, not looking forward to that. But chances are it'll probably just end up being a big firearms regulation / safety debate. Maybe something about violent videogames or how parents shouldn't spank their kids. Maybe we'll get lucky and this won't be a huge newsmedia orgy for the next few months.
Or not.
Action-packed week at school ahead - you may or may not hear much from me depending on how much I decide to procrastinate on my final projects and studying for my crappy ARH exam.

Do you read the Sunday paper? Which one(s)?
If I'm reading the paper these days, its at work, and we don't get USA Todays on Sunday, which means its a Tallahasse Democrat I've bummed off the supervisor.
Speaking of work, the other day I found out that we're the sixth best Holiday Inn in North America. What the hell are the other places under us doing? Or... not doing, I guess. I thought Mitch and I were slacking off pretty hard. =/
New Thing:
What's something you did when you were younger that you still haven't confessed to your parents?

Back in high school, within the first year I got my car (a '96 Honda Accord) I would always go home on this unpaved back road behind the school. There were two 90-degree blind turns on that road, and I, being the immature, unexperienced driver that I was, would quite frequently attempt powerslides going about 40-50mph on them. One day I had Jon in the passenger seat with me and I took the first turn waaay too hard, and was unable to correct the car because I was going too fast. We bumped sideways over the little dirt embankment and almost into the edge of the scrub forest on the side of the road.
My first fear was that the car was stuck in the soft clay of the embankment, but after successfully getting the car out of the woods and back on the road, I discovered something worse: two of the tires on side that jumped the embankment had gone flat and were on the brink of coming off the wheels entirely. I drove us the rest of the way home (noticably tilted to the right) and left the car in the driveway, completely afraid of what Dad's reaction would be when he got home. When he got home, I told him the tires were flat and I didn't know why, that maybe there were nails hidden in the dirt road from construction or some other weak story like that. I guess he either believed it or he knew something was up but was thankful enough that Jon and I made it out alive, because I didn't really get in a lot of trouble for it, and I think Dad got a new set of tires for the Accord that night. I haven't done a powerslide since then.
I still feel a little guilty about it to this day, but I doubt I'll ever tell Dad. Maybe Mom, but definitely not Dad. Sometimes, I think the less he knows, the better. Which also makes me feel a little guilty. =/
